I had Business Coaching

September 11, 2008

I had been working at a company for several years before I decided that I needed business coaching. Although my position in the company was secure, I had taken stock of where I was in my career path and realized that many of my personal career goals had not been met. Although I had received raises on a regular basis, I had only been promoted once in 5 years, and my career seemed to be at a standstill. I decided to give business coaching a try.

What I realized as soon as I started receiving business coaching was that there were certain things that I was doing, and not doing, that were impeding my progress. Business coaching not only showed me how to attain my goals, it taught me how to evaluate them to see if they were the right goals for me. I learned what my responsibility was when it came to attaining my career goals, and what I needed to do to organize my time and my efforts so that things would start moving in a positive direction.

Business coaching entailed more than just one-on-one discussions with a professional coach; there were group discussions with others who had the same career concerns as I did. These discussions were guided by a professional business coach so that they were productive for all of us. Bouncing ideas back and forth in a group was a great way to come up with effective ways to improve my career path.

Through business coaching, I was able to find ways to attain my career goals and still keep a healthy balance between my work life and my home life, and it has benefited not only me but the company that I work for.

A business’s operation starts with the owner or the top management. Their beliefs will or should permeate the entire organization. If they are to take advantage of a business coach, they must be willing to accept change and institute new ways of doing things. As a business grows, this tight control can become a bottleneck. A lack of delegation of authority and responsibility can be detrimental to the desired growth. There are many examples that could explain why hiring a good business coach may be a smart idea. A business coach has no bias toward the owner or manager. They look at the problem or the potential for a problem; and try to correct it or prevent it from taking place.

Will business coaching help me? The answer is yes if the coach is solid and the client is willing to listen to the coach’s advice.

Business Coaching

August 31, 2008

Business coaching online is the wave of the future. Though before you were required to attend seminars or classes – possibly cutting into your work hours – you can now participate in business coaching online from the comfort of your own home using your computer and the Internet.

Business coaching online works through Internet classes and interactive group sessions. Special chat rooms can be set up where participants can ask questions and discuss different work issues, all with the guidance of a qualified business coach. One-on-one coaching can be done through email, private chat sessions, and even tele-conferencing.

Business coaching online can help participants achieve goals within the companies that they work for and within their own lives. Companies can have teams of employees enroll in business coaching to promote better teamwork and to help employees understand specific company goals. Business coaching online does not have to be company sponsored, however, individuals can participate in online coaching seminars and courses on their own.

Benefits of business coaching online can mean a better balance between work and home life, greater understanding of career goals and how to reach them, higher productivity, and better use of time. The key is to find a reputable company that provides web-based coaching. You can do a search online for web-based companies that provide business coaching. When you find some that you might be interested in using, you should always check their references through the Better Business Bureau, and also ask them for personal and company references.
